Join us for an unforgettable evening of traditional Irish music with Diarmuid Ó Meachair, Joe DeGeorgeo, and Seamus Noonan.

The evening promises to be an intimate experience with a diverse selection of tunes, ranging from lively jigs and reels to haunting songs in the Irish language. Diarmuid O Meachair, acclaimed Irish accordionist, will be joined by Joe DeGeorgeo on fiddle and Seamus Noonan on flute, both known for their brilliant traditional music. Musicians:

Diarmuid O Meachair – Diarmuid Ó Meachair is an Accordion player from Cúil Aodha, Co. Cork. He is also an accomplished Melodeon player and sean-nós singer. He was awarded the prestigious TG4 Young Musician of the year award in 2022. Diarmuid is part of the teaching staff at the Department of Music in UCC. He is the new Professor of Irish Music in College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Joe DeGeorgeo –Joe De Georgeo is a Boston-based fiddle player from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in a musical family, beginning violin lessons at a young age, and was exposed to Irish music after living in Galway with his family in 2007. At the Center for Irish Music in St. Paul MN, Joe and his sister started fiddle lessons with local teacher, Jode Dowling. Joe continued learning from musicians such as Brian Conway, James Kelly, and Sean Gavin. In 2022 Joe released a duet album with accordion player Ian McKenna called Star of the North and received the Sean O’Riada Gold Medal in 2023.

Seamus Noonan – Seamus Noonan is an accomplished Irish traditional flute and concertina player from the Boston area. He learned his music from his father Jimmy Noonan. Seamus’ dedication to Irish music has earned him recognition at the highest levels, including being named a finalist in the 2024 Seán Ó’ Riada competition and placing at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Senior flute competition. He has been heavily influenced by the flute players of the past such as Seamus Tansey and John McKenna.
